IWMA’s John C Hogg Travel Awards Ceremony at wire 2008
The biennial travel awards, funded by the IWMA’s Educational Trust Fund and named after the Association’s founder and secretary general John Hogg, were presented to the recipients in a ceremony held on the IWMA booth during wire Düsseldorf 2008.
Eight winners of the award, drawn from various parts of the world, received commemorative certificates from the President of the IWMA, Georg Queins and complimentary catalogues and gifts from Friedrich Kehrer of Messe Düsseldorf, project director of wire 2008. Friedrich had also provided all recipients with free season tickets to the exhibition. All winners were VIP guests at the IWMA’s gala dinner held later that same day.
The IWMA Educational Trust Fund awarded grants to all winners to cover the costs of travel and hotel accommodation, giving a unique opportunity to trainees to attend the world’s largest and most important exhibition for the wire and cable industry.
