News from the IWMA Executive Board
The IWMA is delighted to report that two new members have been elected to the Executive Board, bringing a wealth of wire and cable industry experience to the table that should prove invaluable to the Association and its activities.
Joerg Inhelder is the managing director of FMS Force Measuring Systems AG, Switzerland that was formed in 1993 following a management buy out. FMS produces tension and web guiding systems for wire and cable, fiber optics, cord and rope, narrow tapes and flat wire.
John Cunnington recently retired from major lubricants company Chemetall after many years service. He has been a well-known figure at IWMA functions over many years and will have useful insights as a “consumer” of the Association’s various events.
As a non-profit making organisation the IWMA relies to a large extent on the voluntary work undertaken by members of the Executive Board. In 2009 the Association will be celebrating its 40th anniversary and over many years a number of Board members have made significant contributions to the success of the IWMA in making it the world’s leading corporate membership organisation for the wire and cable industry.
In recognition of these contributions the IWMA has decided to award honorary life membership to the following board members and their organisations:
Terry Robinson, XL Technologies Ltd, IWMA Treasurer and past Chairman
Don Tucker, TM Associates, Technical Sub Committee Chairman and past IWMA Chairman
Geoff Church, G Church Consultants, Executive Board and Technical Sub Committee member
Bob Dayson, ADS Engineering Ltd, Executive Board member
