IWMA to organise technical conference in Düsseldorf in November 2011

The IWMA is planning a two-day technical conference to be held at the Messe Düsseldorf Congress Centre from 7th–8th November 2011.  This will be the association’s first conference in Germany since the highly successful “Fire performance of cables,” which was also held in Düsseldorf in 2002.

It seems logical that the 2011 event should be held in what is now undoubtedly the spiritual home of wire.  Other wire industry associations will cooperate in the organising of the conference. 

Some of the themes that the conference will cover are likely to include advancements in data cables and fire prevention improvements – for non-ferrous sessions – and, for ferrous sessions, environmental aspects for rod and wire production and quality requirements for the spring and wire component producing industries.  Other topics will be confirmed in due course.
