CEO of Messe Düsseldorf China Tony Fung responds to concerns about Moon Day holiday during wire/Tube China 2010
During wire Düsseldorf recently some exhibitors and visitors expressed concern about the fact that the Chinese Moon Day national holiday this year will fall on September 22, the second day of the exhibition. Tony Fung, CEO of Messe Düsseldorf China (MDC) moved quickly to allay these concerns:
“….. the influence will be minimal..…..China has really changed a lot, business always goes first……the main celebration takes place only during the night to appreciate the moon. Our exhibition closes at 5pm; there will be sufficient time for both the exhibitor and visitor to attend parties or family gatherings. However we expect even more visitors from different parts of china to take advantage of the holiday to see the World-Expo in Shanghai and to visit the wire & Tube China 2010 in one time.”
The IWMA remains confident that wire/Tube China 2010 will be a very successful and well attended event and has agreed to support a technical conference organised by Shanghai Electric Cable Research Institute (SECRI) on the eve of the exhibition. (SECRI is a co organiser of the wire exhibition with MDC).
More details about the technical conference will be published soon. In the meantime IWMA members are reminded that the association will be holding a 40th anniversary celebratory drinks reception on its booth in hall W1on Thursday 23 September. Full information will be sent to members closer to the exhibition date.
The IWMA reminds all potential exhibitors at the exhibition of its excellent at-cost Tiger exhibition packages, details of which can be accessed here. We also have some excellent value rooms for members at a conveniently located good hotel, subject to availability, something worth considering if intending to visit or exhibit because of pressure on hotel capacities caused by the Shanghai World Expo.
