IWMA EDUCATIONAL TRUST FUND AWARD
IWMA Educational Trust Fund supports research at Advanced Steel Processing and Products Research Center (ASPPRC) at the George S Ansell Department of Metallurgical and Materials Engineering at the Colorado School of Mines in the USA
Following an application by Research Assistant Professor Emmanuel De Moor at the ASPPRC the trustees of the IWMA Educational Trust Fund have agreed to provide two years of funding for research projects at the establishment. The funding award is also supported by IWMA member company Bekaert.
The two research projects are:
“Study of boron and vanadium alloying of high carbon steel wire to improve properties”
“Determination of free nitrogen in wire steels”
Professor De Moor has accepted an invitation from the organisers of the CabWire World Conference 2011 in Düsseldorf, Germany on 7 November to present a technical paper based on the research: “Effect of boron alloying on microstructural evolution and mechanical properties of high carbon wire”.
The IWMA is always interested in supporting education and research through its Educational Trust Fund and for more information about scholarships, research grants and travel awards to wire Düsseldorf 2012 please click here.
